The Martabak Manis on the picture is the 'cheese-peanut' version from "Bong Ngian" in Jakarta North (Kelapa Gading):
I also found this YouTube video that shows how they make it...
No fancy cooking show, but real street vendor stuff :-)

Don't live in Indonesia? Don't worry... You can make it yourself at home.
I once made it myself with instant Martabak Mix from the brand 'Pondan' (you can buy it at Asian shops in the Netherlands and probably also in other countries) and even this instant version was actually quite tasteful. Of course not as good as the ones from the martabak sellers in Jakarta, but at least way better than most regular cakes in Europe...
Unfortunately, I can't find the picture of my home-made Martabak, but I will post it when I find it again...
About Pondan Martbak Mix: I used this stuff in the Netherlands and it was quite a success (it looked and tasted like real Martabak). However, when I tried to make it in Jakarta, it completely failed. Three times. So, I think I want to revise my opinion. Just buy it from some street vendor when you're around.
