Bahasa Indonesia Course in Jakarta at IALF

I recently enrolled myself at IALF for the bahasa Indonesia course for beginners and even though I'm not the kind of person who enjoys learning new languages, I would really recommend this course.

Let me give you some reasons to 'convince' you:
  1. They have a very informative website and respond to email very quickly
  2. I decided to take a course 1 day before the course started and that was no problem: I could do a placement test the morning after I contacted them and took my first classes the same evening!
  3. Pak Soetopo, my teacher, is one of the most enthusiastic teachers I've ever met. He can make all students active during classes and has funny and smart ways to make you remember words.
  4. It's very affordable (especially the price-quality ratio is very good) - 2.650.000 Rupiah for 30 hours of quality teaching (evening course, different price for intensive/semi-intensive courses at daytime)
  5. They provide you with good study material. You'll get homework, but not too much (so it's very do-able for expats who already have a full-time job)
  6. They have a great library with fast wifi-connection
Of course, nothing is perfect, so let me also tell you about the downside:
  1. They're located at Plaza Kuningan, which is an office building at Jl. Rasuna Said. My evening course starts at 6pm and at this hour Rasuna Said is completely JAMMED.
  2. The class room is not very convenient. It's very very cold and they have that kind of inconvenient chairs with TINY tables attached to it (really hate it, but it's not a big issue though)
I think I'll write another post about the course itself later, but for now, if you want more information, just visit the website: http://www.ialf.edu/learningindonesian.html
